Show Boys Must Be Stopped From Killing Birds On Temple Grounds Parents of boys who have flippers are asked to cooperate in restricting re-stricting them from using these weapons and BB guns in the vicinity of the St. George Temple grounds and on the grounds for the destruction of bird life. Also bird nests on these grounds must not be disturbed or robbed. This is a positive order and steps will be taken, if necessary to see that this is complied with. It is understood there is a definite city order respecting the use of flippers and BB guns, and this should be observed especially with respect to such property as the Temple grounds where tourists may be endangered by a stray rock or shot; not to mention the unwholesome impression given to these travelers who see groups of boys using flippers and attempting to rob nests on these grounds. Gardners and caretakers are frequently fre-quently obliged to ask such boys to desist these practices, even at times when tourists are present. People who stop at the Temple grounds are often impressed with the wealth of bird song heard among the trees, but this will soon cease if boys persist in robbing rob-bing nests and shooting at birds at these and other public places. |
