Show ZION PARK STAKE CONFERENCE HELD IN HURRICANE SUN HURRICANE, Utah. Zion Park stake quarterly conference convened con-vened Sunday morning. February 7 with President Claudius Hirschi presiding. Speakers at this session included in-cluded Elders Janu's Judd and Alvin Englestead of the stake presidency, Elder Ronald Christ-ensen Christ-ensen of the Springdj.le ward, who recently returned from the southern south-ern states mission. Elder Georgf A. Holt of the G.neral Sunday school union boaro and Mis Wahlquist of the General boara of the Primary association. Mrs. Lillian Workman rendered a vocal solo. The afternoon session of the conference was turned over to the General board visitors with Elder Holt in charge. Those speaking followed in the order given: Elder Mark Austin, Mrs. Wahlquist, Miss Mary R. Jack, General board secretary, Gordon Holt, Alvin Allred cf the Spring-uale Spring-uale ward, Gordon Jones ami Marvin T. Terry of Rockvule ward,- George Hasting, Frank Barber and Wayne Hinton of the Hurricane wards. Each speaker spoke upon some phase of spirit? ual guidance. A musical festival, under the auspices of the stake M. I. A. boards, given Sunday evening concluded con-cluded the conference. The program pro-gram was as here listed. Two numbers from the LaVerkin ward double mixed quartet. A ladies chorus from each Hurricane ward; a ladies chorus, Toquerville ward; stringed trio, Hurricane high school; trumpet duet by Kendell Glfford and son, Springdale ward; (Continued on page four) HURRICANE MI1S. KATM.V KIN K LAHSOX Reporter The Hurricane high school and elementary school teachers and partners were entertained Monday evening at a faculty dinner given by the following members: Mr. and Mrs. Owen Hurgener, Mr. and Mrs. Flmer Graff. Mr. and Mrs. lv.tr 1 Larson. Miss Emily Schoen-hals. Schoen-hals. Miss Wilda Waite and Walter Walt-er Brooks. The table, laid for twenty-rive, was gay with valentine valen-tine favors. Mrs. Graft was chairman chair-man of the dinner. Miss Waite was responsible for the attrnict-iveness attrnict-iveness of the table and Miss Schoenhals was the leader of an' evening hilariously spent. Mr. and Mrs. Leeman Bennett and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Graff accompanied the high school basketball bas-ketball team to Farowan on last Friday. They were the guests after the game of Mr. and Mrs. Ormin Weight, and Mr. and Mrs. A. Noble Kimball, former Humane high school instructors. The faculty members of the local high school met the Farowan faculty team in a preliminary pirao. The score was 49-S in Hurricane's favor. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Williams. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Stout and Mis. Tom Stansworth were business busi-ness visitors in Salt Lake City V..st week-end . Mrs. Marie Stansworth enter-tainned enter-tainned the Wednesday night club February 9. Twelve guests enjoyed en-joyed an evening of Five Hundred. |
