Show La Verkin Mrs. Alice Gubler Reporter Mr. and Mrs. Walter Anderson of Salt Lake City were visitors here at the homes of relatives last week. Ray Button has left for Las Vegas where he has employment. Glenn Woodbury made a trip to Salt Lake City where he visited visit-ed his daughter, Glenna, who is attending the L.D.S. Nursing school. Mrs. Cleone Iverson entertained eight guests at her home Saturday Satur-day night at a Valentine party. Mr. and Mrs. Orville Isom and daughter spent the past week here visiting relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Monroe of Fredonia, Ariz, were visitors here during the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Potter of Mesquite, were business visitors here. The stake seventies party held here Monday evening, was not so well attended as might have been expected, but those who were' in attendance reported having hav-ing had a very enjoyable time. The party was under the direction direc-tion of J. Edward Gubler and was given as a "pot luck" party pe guests claimed that taking pot luck" was more than good as there was a bountious supply on hand. The games were con ducted by Owen Burgener. Mrs. Geneva Segler and Mrs. Vilate Hardy had the honor of being the first Bee Keepers to be awarded the three-year service pins in the ward. These pins are beautiful little gold bee hives with colored bees and flowers around them. They are given by the general board of the M.I.A. for three successive years of work as Bee Keepers, and being able to pass a certain standard set up by them. The awards were made by Mrs. Grace Staheli, the stake Bee Keeper. The Sunday school play was presented in Virgin Monday night to an appreciative audience. |
