Show Local Guard Unit Changes Starting Time Of Drills The time of meeting for ' the Guard Unit will be 8 p.m. instead of 7:30, starting with drill next Monday night, Aug. 21, and continuing con-tinuing until further notice. The new supply of enlistment blanks have been received and may be obtained from Lieutenant Cannon at his office in the Pickett building. Due to several enlisted men moving out of town, there are a few vacancies in the unit at present. The last Softball game of the second half of the schedule was played by the Lions and the Guard Unit Tuesday night and Company C lost by the score of 6-5. The game will be scheduled soon between be-tween the first platoon under the leadership of Corporal Lee Phariss and the second platoon under the leadership of Corporal Calvert Andrus. I The non-commissioned officers' school Monday night after drill was given instruction by Lieutenant Lieuten-ant Cannon on the Manuel of Arms, using a Krag-Jorgenson rifle, model 1898. |
