Show La Yerkin Mrs. Alice Gnbler Reporter By an oversight the program for sacrament meeting last week should have included a solo sung by Walter Church. A New Mexico tourist lost his car by fire on the highway north of town Sunday afternoon. Bp. and Mrs. Vernon Church left Sunday noon for Salt Lake to attend conference and visit for a week. Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Moffitt of Manti, parents of Mrs. J. Wayne Reid, were here over the week-end visiting. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Empey of St. George, parents of Mrs. Wickley Gubler, were Sunday visitors. Mr. Empey is a brother of Mrs. A. J. Stout, who has been convalescing after a severe case of illness. Mr. and Mrs. Theron Stevens have moved from the Nellie Stout home into their own home above the canal. Of interest to all LaVerkin friends, will be the announcement of the marriage last Tuesday, in the St. George Temple, of Emma Brooks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brooks, who operate the power plant, to Denzil Pollock, of Tropic. Mr. Pollock has been stationed at the Zion Park CCC camp. Miss Brooks has just returned re-turned from a week's visit to Tropic. Mr. and Mrs. Wickley Gubler. .Mr. and Mrs. LaFell Iverson and Ina Gifford attended the Saturday Satur-day session at the Temple. Twenty people from here are requested to attend the Easter services next Sunday to help take part in the program. The basment of E. J. Graffs new home is poured and covered. |
