Show DIXIE DEBATES WITH U. S A. C. Thursday, March 29th, at 3:00, four of the Dixie College debaters engaged in a debate with the U. S. A. C. debaters. The debaters de-baters from Logan were completing complet-ing a tour of Snow College, B. A. C. and Dixie College. Immediately Immed-iately after the debates the visitors visi-tors left for a .Tight-seeing trip, intending to visit Zion National Park, and Bryce Canyon before returning to Logan. The names of the debaters from Logan were as follows; Raleigh Barlow and Margarita Fonnesbeck (Representing the negative Mr. Barlow is the Junior Jun-ior College Debate Manager), and Raymond Malouf and Hyrum CoIIister (representing the Affirmative). Affirm-ative). They were accompanied by one of the instructors at the U. S. A. C. V. D. Gardiner. Ernest Lee and Mary Morris upheld the affirmative side of the question for Dixie, and Jack Spencer and Wayne Wilson upheld up-held the negative for Dixie.' The debates were non-decision debates. de-bates. Thursday at 1:00 P. M. the eight Dixie College debaters will leave for Provo to participate in the Junior College Debate Tournament Tour-nament to be held there on April 6th and 7th. Thirteen schools are to be represented at the tournament. tour-nament. The Dixie College students entering en-tering the tournament are composing com-posing four teams. Two members mem-bers constitute a team and each team will be required to debate both sides of the question. The question is as follows: Resolved, that the Powers of the President of the United States should be Substantially Increased as a settled set-tled Policy. The names of those that will enter the tournament from Dixie are as follows: Alma Cottam and Karl J. Wilkinson. Ernest Lee and Mary Morris, Jack Spencer and Wayne Wilson, Edwin Demille and Rulon Orten. The debating coach John T. Woodbury will accompany the debaters on their trip to Provo. |
