However, to operate, the sum must be matched by approximately approxi-mately 510,000, and an effort is being made at this time to secure the assistance of the state legislature legis-lature in appropriating this amount. Investigation lias disclosed that the per capita cost to the suite, for the maintenance o Dixie will lowest in the U. S. The complete plant and equipment, equip-ment, now belonging to the ttake, according to the plan, would be turned to the Utah education commission. The importance of the college to this part of the state is of outstanding importance. One feature fea-ture which is vital to the growth 0: Washington county is education educa-tion of local teachers. Each winter sees a large influx in-flux of families to this city for school, who otherwise would be attracted to some other locality. Young people of St. George are all comparatively well educated, edu-cated, where very few would be able to put forth the effort for secular education in the larger centers of the state. |
