Mary Jane, the three months old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Myers 'of Central passed away a.t that place on Monday, from whooping cough. Mrs. Myers My-ers and another child are here for medical treatment. The parents have the sympathy of the community com-munity in their bereavement. Ma's. Harry Shirk, Mrs. Glenn Heaton and two children, Mrs. Gene 'Stewart and Misses Norma and Charlotte Bunting spent Wednesday Wed-nesday here from. Cedar City visiting vis-iting their mother, Mrs. Sina Bunting, Bun-ting, the occasion being her birthday. birth-day. Leland Hal'en, coach at the Dixie Junior College, returned Sunday from the coaching school at the U. A. C. in Logan. There were, fifty-three coaches in atten-dence. atten-dence. Males left Friday to attend summer school at the University Uni-versity of California at Berkeley. Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Atkins attended at-tended the Bankers convention at Bryce Canyon last Saturday and went from there to Glendale, where they will fie met by relatives rela-tives who will accompany them to Fish Lake for an outing. Earl Milne suffered a painful injury to his left arm at the elbow el-bow on Sunday, when he fell while walking on stilts and struck a pickett fence. Several stitches were taken to close the wound and he is getting along nicely. Mrs. John Lang has returned from a months visit with relatives at Kanab. ; Mitss Peggy Tolton of Los Angeles An-geles was a visitor here on Wednesday Wed-nesday while en route to Bryce Canyon to spend the summer. Dr. and Mrs. Rodney Snow and children were visiting on Wednesday Wednes-day afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Snow while en route from Chicago, where Mr. Snow has been attending a medical medi-cal school, to Los Angeles, where he will take his interne work. Last Thursday evening, Elmer Pickett ,son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hen-ry Pickett had the misfortune to badly sprain his left wrist. Dr. M. J. Macfarlane and .William .Will-iam C. Macfarlane spent Sunday with relatives here while en route to their home at Cedar City from Bull Valley. Claud Lundquist accompanied by his mother and sister spent the latter part of last week visiting visit-ing here. Mr. and Mrs. Rex iSnow and daughter, O Dawn of Salt Lake City and Miss Drew Fisher of Farmington, came in Wednesday to visit relatives and friends. They will spend the summer here and at Pine Valley. Miss Erma White of Beaver spent Wednesday and Thursday visiting friends here. Miss White labored as a missionary in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Mr. and Mrs. Lortz of tliis city formerly lived, he being president of that branch of the church. Hugh Kent acompanied by Betty Button and Inez Cunningham spent Saturday here from Tu-Weep, Tu-Weep, Arizona, visiting Mr. and Mrs. Ted Kent. Mrs. Mary Kleinman of Hurricane Hurri-cane visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George E. Miles Friday and Saturday. |
