Howard Woodbury is showing some improvement after a two weeks' serious illness. Rex Nelson left Sunday for Salt Lake City and will visit for several sev-eral days with his father, Ernest Nelson. Miss Norma Bringhurst of Toquervilie To-quervilie came down Saturday and began work Monday as an assistant assist-ant to the assessor. Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Covey of Salt Lake City spent Tuesday in St. George en route to their home after a trip through California. Mrs. Henry Barnum and daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. John Day, and son Wtm., of Enterprise, were business visitors visi-tors here Tuesday. Dr. LaVerne Daly left Wednesday Wednes-day for Panguitch where he will spend the remainder of the week visiting his parents. The three-months-old boy of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Williams of Washington passed away Wednesday Wednes-day morning of pneumonia. Born A son to Mr. and Mrs. H. C' Lee Monday, January 19, at Elsinore, Utah. Mr. Lee is manager man-ager cf Andrus store here. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Brown, Miss Anne Brown and Mr. and Mrs. Hayden Church of Kanab spent Sunday here on business and with friends. Mr. and Mrs. L. Snow and Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Hunter of Salt Lake City spent Tuesday here. They are returning from a trip to Lcs Angeles. Mrs. V. A. Ross returned on Tuesday from Salt Lake City where she spent about three weeks visiting her mother, Mi-s. Harriet Ericson. Dr. C. M. Peterson, E. L. Peterson and J. Lloyd Clark left Wednesday for Mesquite and points in Nevada. They have spent the past week here. John A. Judd of La Verkin came down Sunday and was accompanied ac-companied home by Mrs. Judd who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. Lorenzo Bringhurst, for the past ten days. truck. First class condition. Mrs. Orson Sanders and son, Lew Sanders, of Murray, spent Wednesday here with relatives. They are on their way to Los Angeles. Dave Bryner of Price left Monday Mon-day for San Francisco to visit his daughter. He has been visiting relatives rel-atives here for the last three weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Adams and daughter, Beatrice, of Paro-wan Paro-wan came down Friday. Miss Virginia Pearce of Beaver came in Sunday and will be a student stu-dent at the Dixie College for the rest of the term. Carl Veider and son George of Salt Lake City arrived here Sunday Sun-day and will remain for several days on cattle buying business. Over fifty persons attended the cottage meeting held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Mathis Monday evening. Talks were given by Bishop Heber Truman of Enterprise, En-terprise, Bishop Jacob Frei of Santa San-ta Clara, and Stanley Fuller of Leeds. George Lytle rendered a vocal number. The Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion met Monday at the home of Mrs. C. L. Hamilton. A talk on our government was given by Orval Hafen. Progressive rook was played, the first prize going to Mrs. Julia Graff and the consolation to Mrs. Henry Pickett. A light lunch was served to 18 members. The next meeting will be held at Tne home of Mrs. Vernon Ver-non Worthen who will be assisted by Mi-s. Calvin Dalton. |
