Show IDELLE PATTERSON A beautiful voice, a winsome personality per-sonality and a musical training, quite out of the ordinary, have combined to make Idelle Patterson, who will appear in the tabernacle as the first number of the Dixie College lyceum, one of the most popular sopranos on the American concert stage. She has a lyric style, which is of particular appeal on the recital platform, and a dramatic instinct enabling her to give a vivid interpretation to the operatic arias, which rarely find a place on the song recital program, and, in addition, ad-dition, Miss Patterson has the coloratura color-atura technique, so unusual in the musical equipment of either the lyric or the dramatic soprano. This versatility ver-satility accounts a great deal for the fact that Miss Patterson has achieved success as a concert artist as well as a soloist with the leading orchestras and has won recognition not often accorded the American born and trained artist. Idelle Patterson's art is of an individual in-dividual quality, for to her exceptional exception-al voice is added an inborn grace and that personal magnetism, which is the sine qua non of a successful concert con-cert career. Her voice is not merely of great range and beauty. It contains con-tains that human quality which is something quite apart from all consideration con-sideration of pitch or volume and which creates an atmosphere of intimacy in-timacy and charm, transporting the coldness of a mere concert hall into the sparkling warmth of a music salon. Miss Patterson has an extensive repertory of arias, songs and ballards in all languages and her diction is not the least attribute of her art. She is also a delightful oratorio soloist. During the coming season Miss Patterson Pat-terson will make her second consecutive consecu-tive tour of Colorado and adjacent territory and will fill many reengage-ments, reengage-ments, the best possible tribute to her artistic ahlity and personal success suc-cess as a recitalist. |
