Show NEW HARMONY- NEW HARMONY, March 19. Arnold Ar-nold Blackmer of Los Angeles and L. G. Ellsworth of Salt Lake City-have City-have been visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Grant. Mr. Blackmer is the famous cowboy tenor ten-or whom many will recall having heard broadcast from New York and Los Angeles. While visiting here he entertained two appreciative audiences. audi-ences. Mr. Ellsworth is an accomplished accom-plished pianist and vocalist, and assisted as-sisted greatly in the entertaining. Ezra Hayden is home from St. George hospital where he underwent an operation for appendicitis. We are having some real spring weather here lately. Goat shearing is in progress at St. George and Virgin. Mr. and Mrs. George Kleinman were Sunday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Reese Daws. Many of our townspeople were at St. George over the week end to attend conference and the epera. President Wm. Palmer and Arthur Gardner were with us in sacrament meeting Sunday. Anthon Pace who has been attending attend-ing Dixie College, is home suffering with an infected toe. NEW HARMONY, March 26. We are again in the grip of winter weather wea-ther which has a disastrous effect on livestock. Attorneys Checkels and King of Salt Lake City were week end visitors vis-itors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Grant. Last Tuesday evening Mr. and Mrs. William Prince, Mr. and Mrs. Pratt Prince, Mi-, and Mrs. Lee Cox, Marion, Mar-ion, James and Hazel Prince and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Cox motored up from St. George for a surprise for Mr. and Mrs. George F. Prince, the occasion being Mr. Prince's birthday. Refreshments, previously arranged,, were served, and a good time had. The Relief Society gave their annual an-nual entertainment last night. It was a great success. Goat shearing is completed in St. George and will be continued in Virgin. Vir-gin. Henry A. Pace is getting around again after being confined to his room for several days with a bad cold. E. G. Hale has purchased a truck which will be used in marketing his produce this summer. |
