Show FUND TO BE RAISED FOR SCOUT OVERHEAD Plans for the establishments of a $10,000,000 endowment fund to be used for the stabilization of the overhead ov-erhead organization of the Boy Scouts of America and for the retirement re-tirement of paid executives, were revealed re-vealed Thursday by C. J. Carlson, Los Angeles, regional boy scout executive, ex-ecutive, during a visit in Salt Lake City. The gigantic fund, which will affect af-fect every council and scout executive execu-tive in America, will place the scouting organization on a modern business basis. Subscriptions to the fund will begin this fall and should be completed before the end of 1930, Mr. Carlson said. Though no additional burden of any sort will be placed on the councils coun-cils themselves, each executive will pay into the fund, starting next year, a certain proportion of his salary. The major portion of the ten million, mil-lion, however, will be raised by donations do-nations in a campaign commencing in October. Of the vast amount it is proposed that $2,800,000 be used in the payment pay-ment of accrued liabilities, principally princi-pally in pensions to former executives. execu-tives. The age limit for retirement has not yet been set.
