Show BINGHAM HAN DIES 0FCRASHJNJUR1ES Arno LoRoy Bliven, 51, of 59 Railroad Ave., Bingham Canyon, was fatally injured Sunday, September Sep-tember 9, at 7;50 p.m.. when he was pinned under his automobile after a two -car crash at 27th . West and 90th South, West Jordan. Jor-dan. He died about 9:30 p.m. in a Salt Lake hospital from head and chest injuries. His son, Ronald, 23, suffered a rib injury, but was treated and released. According to Salt Lake County Deputy Sheriff Clifford Gunn, who investigated, the mishap occurred when the eastbound Bliven machine and a southbound south-bound auto driven by Fred Wach, 53, of 3910 S. 52nd West, collided in the intersection. Force of the collision was so great that Mr. Bliven was pinned in the wreckage wreck-age and a wrecker had to hoist the machine to remove him. Mr. Wach apparently escaped injuries. injur-ies. Mr. Bliven was born November Novem-ber 12, 1904, in Denver, Colo., a son of Hiram and Edna Boswell Bliven. He married Ethel Hill December Decem-ber 7, 1931, in Salt Lake City. Employed by Kennecott Copper Cop-per Corp., he was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen. Car-men. Surviving him are his widow, and a son, Ronald K. Bliven, Bingham Canyon, and a sister, Mrs. Celeste Smith, Pueblo, Colo. . Funeral services were conducted conduc-ted yesterday (Thursday) at 1:00 p.m. in the Bingham Community Methodist Church with Rev. Eric Hawkins of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Salt Lake City, officiating. Interment was in Mt. Olivet cemetery, Salt Lake City, under direction of Bingham iMortuary. |
