Show WASHINGTON Washington, April 2 7. The upper grades of the school put on the "Cantata "Can-tata "The Childhood of Hiawatha" Monday night, under the direction of the music instructor, Mr. Fordham. There were orchestra selections by the beginners' orchestra from here and Santa Clara, also choruses from students of the Woodward school in addition to the Cantata. It was all well rendered and appreciated by a large audience. Mr. and Mrs. Kerry Stapley and small son of Eureka were the guests of Mrs. Lydia Stephens Thursday. They were enroute to Los Angeles, California. About twenty of our students will go to St. George tonight to help sing in uie same cantata which is being put on there tonight. Mrs. Margaret Averett has returned return-ed from Los Angeles, Cal., where she spent the past winter with some of her children. Leslie Prince, Mrs. Hyrum Prince and Mrs. Viola Larson made a business busi-ness trip to Cedar City Monday. Joseph Hafen made a business' trip to Salt Lake City last week, he has returned with a new truck. John Averett has returned from Panaca, Nev., where he has been employed em-ployed for some time past. The lower grades of the school will give their- closing exercises Friday night in the gymnasium. Calvin Jolley left last week to work for Mr. Brinkerhoff of Glen-dale. |
