Show SPRINGDALE Springdule. Sept. 14. Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Wylie of Pasadena, Cal., were visitors in Springdale Saturday and Sunday. They visited Zion park' while here. Mr. Wylie made a trip to the West Rim on horseback. An elaborate dinner was given in their honor at the home of Walter Ruesch. and after the dinner the party moved to the school house where there was more room. Mr. and Mrs. Wylie related re-lated some of their early experiences in pioneering in the Yellowstone park ver forty years ago, as well as later in the Zion park and the north rim of the Grand Canyon, nine years ago. Walter Ruesch will leave soon for the Grand Canyon where he will spend a few days going over the Mails in that park. The Grand canyon can-yon trails are considered some of the best in the park service and the intention in-tention is to make Zion park trails equal those of Grand Canyon if possible. pos-sible. Park Supt. R. T. Evans and Mrs. Evans made a trip to Fredonia to meet an engineer who is coming into in-to the park to look over the trails and roads in order that he may give advice ad-vice as to improvements. Neal Workman and Charles Durphy and families of Delta, left for their home Saturday after spending several days visiting friends and relatives here. Rupert Ruesch went to St. George Sunday to attend the Dixie College. Miss Leta Crawford also went Sunday Sun-day to attend school in Hurricane. George Hepworth and Miss Lidia Ruesch have returned from Twin Falls. Idaho, where they spent the summer. Word has been recived here that a daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Mack Bean, in Cedar City, Sept. 7. Miss Murphy of Salina, who has been visiting some time at Oak creek left for her home yesterday. John Winder and M. E. Gifford returned re-turned yesterday from Richfield. |
