Show GUNLOCK RESIDENT DIED HERE SUNDAY Howard Leavitt Passed Away After Two AVeoks Suffering Following Operation. Howard Melvin Leavitt, 3 0, of Gunlock, died at the Washington Wash-ington County hospital Sunday evening at 6 o'clock. On October 7 he underwent an operation for ruptured appendix, and although his condition was considered serious seri-ous for a time, a few days before be-fore his death strong hopes were held for his recovery. Mr. Leavitt was born July 8, 1901, at Gunlock, a son of the late Jeremiah and Mary E. Leavitt, Leav-itt, and has lived in that place all his life. On June 24, 1926, he was married to Miss Lottie Bowler in the St. George temple. tem-ple. He was secretary of the Y. M. M. I. A. during the winter of 1925-26, and for the past year and a half he has been second counselor to the Gunlock ward bishop. Surviving are his widow, two children, Ferral and Melvin Wayne, his mother and the following fol-lowing brothers and sisters: Thomas and Duayne, Ogden; Eugene, Eu-gene, Gunlock; Mrs. James Tul-lis, Tul-lis, Ogden; Mrs. Fred Blake, Oklahoma; Mrs. Louise Williams, Oakland, Calif.; Mrs. Sarah Talbot, Tal-bot, Holden; Mrs. Eathel Piatt, New Castle; Mrs. Ethel Tullis, Idaho Falls; Mrs. Clarissa Piatt, Richfield; Mrs. Olive Chinn, Rig-by, Rig-by, Idaho, and Mrs. Blanche Holt, Gunlock. Funeral services were held at Gunlock Wednesday morning and interment was in the cemetery there. |
