Show NEW HARMONY New Harmony, August 30. A jolly crowd consisting of Bp. and Mrs. H. A. Pace, Mr. and Mrs. John Bloem, Mr. and Mrs. Orson Hammond, Mrs. Jas. D. Neilson, Mrs. Edna Prince and Mrs. Lafell Iverson ascended the Pine Valley mountain on horseback over the trail recently built. They report a most enjoyable day, sight seeing, partaking par-taking of a mutton dinner and a good soaking in the rain while returning. Mr. and Mrs. John Bloem of Salt Lake City are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Schmutz. Mrs. Bloem is a sister to Mrs. Schmutz. Wm. P. Taylor has installed a gasoline gaso-line bowser, something the town is in need of. One of the sumptuous old chicken roasts, so popular this time of the year, was enjoyed last Thursday evening even-ing by about fifty people. Those present pres-ent from outside towns were, Dr. and Mrs. M. J. Macfarlane, Dr. and Mrs. Frank Petty, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Ford, Mrs. Lottie Perkins, Misses Vilo Redd and Hilda Hunter, all of Cedar City, Mr. and Mrs. Harley Dalton, Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Adams and three daughters, the Misses Mary, Vervene and Pauline Adams and Mrs. Morgan Borrows, all of Parowan. After enjoying enjoy-ing the camp fire, cooked dinner of fried chicken and potatoes, green corn, fruits and melons, the crowd attended attend-ed the dance in town. Pres. Wayne Redd of the San Juan Stake and family were here visiting relatives and friends last week. They 1 attended the chicken supper at the Redd farm. Pres. Redd especially enjoyed en-joyed the occasion as that is his old ' birth place. Bp. Thos. Todd and wife of Cedar View made a short visit Saturday and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Donald Schmutz. Mr. Todd is a brother-in-law to Mrs. Schmutz and came to get his little son Donald, who has been here the past year for his health. Anthony Russell and family of Og-' Og-' den were visiting with his sister. Mrs. Edna Prince. Mrs. Prince accompani- ed them to Grafton, where they will all visit their parents. |
