Show Commodities Issued In Wash. County Listed By FERA That commodities to the extent ex-tent of $27,318.27 have been, distributed dis-tributed in Washington county during the period October 10, 1933 to October 31, 1935, through the ERA and the Utah State Department of Public welfare, wel-fare, is the report given the News by W. O. Bentley. Attention is particularly called by Mr. Bentley to the fact that commodities distribued have in no - way curailed the giving of other relief needs withim the available funds. In submitting the list, that has been distributed, Mr. Bentley pointed out that all of the flour, canned meat and sugar distributed distribut-ed was processed in Utah plants. All of the eggs were purchased in Utah. "Records show," said Mr. Bentley, Ben-tley, "that the cost of distribution distribu-tion from rail heads or storage plants to eligible persons has been accomplished at 8.50 peri cent of the wholesale value of, these commodities. The proportion propor-tion of overhead distribution, the costs borne by the counties, was 3 4 per cent while the total cost borne by the FERA was 6 6 per; cent." ; Following is the list submitted by State Department of Public' welfare: 5.500 pounds apples, 840 pounds beans, 39,844 pounds canned beef. 4,670 pounds butter, 2.20S pounds cereal, 1,603 pounds . cheese, 1.100 dozen eggs, 10,-; 3S9 pounds flour, 540 pounds lard. 3,219 pounds canned milk, 1.S4S pounds dry mil-k, 1,224 pounds canned mutton, 10,214 pounds salt pork. 14.SS6 pounds smoked pork, 3.360 pounds rice,1 17.570 pounds sugar, 2.700 pounds canned veal, 1.779 pounds dried prunes. 1S2 wool blankets, 3S3 comforters, 162 mattresses, 9 IS pillow cases, 1,000 pounds blue grass seed, 320 bed sheets. 1.010 bath towels. 1.687 hand towels. 5.146 pounds canned fruit. 903 pounds canned vegetables. vege-tables. 23,330 pounds fresh meat, 27.713 cans. 136 infants' . garments. gar-ments. 321 women's and girls' garments, 12.524 jar lids and caps. 11.496 jar rubbers. |
