Show ROCKVILLE ROAD IS TO BE MADE SAFER An extensive betterment program on the Rockville hill road was decided decid-ed upon at a meeting of the state road commission, yesterday. It was thought last week that the work would center about the- reduction of the grade on the hill, but this was superseded by the decision to widen and resurface the road and to establish estab-lish turnouts on it. The new program pro-gram as outlined will guarantee a safe highway on the hill, it was announced an-nounced by Henry H. Blood, chairman chair-man of the commission, yesterday at the close of the meeting. As the strip of road under consideration con-sideration lies on the shortest present pres-ent route between Zion park and the Grand Canyon of the Colorado, it is expected that tourist travel on it will be unusually heavy this season. When Governor George H. Dern returned re-turned last month from his trip down the Colorado and through southern Utah he recommended an improvement of the Rockville hill road. While the main work on the hill will not be directed toward the reduction re-duction of the grade, it was announced an-nounced that the grade of 22 per cent might be reduced somewhat in the betterment program.
