Show HURRICANE The dramatic art cla.-s of the Hurricane High Bcliool under the direction of Miss Kmily Schoen-hala Schoen-hala presented three, one-act plays Wednesday, December 11 In the high school auditorium. The first act was entitled, "Grandma's "Grand-ma's ChriHtmas" and the players were. lone DeMillo, Garth Jones, Verna Ileaton, Evans Woodbury, Glenna Woodbury, Carlyle Sullivan, Sulli-van, F'ae Ruber and Leon a lirooks. The second play was, "His Just Deserts," with Barbara Terry, Wendell Hall, Wesley Le-liaron, Le-liaron, Raymond Maloney, Ruth Wilson and Wealthy Campbell. The third play was, "The Forgotten For-gotten Man," with Clell Covington, Coving-ton, David Ruc-HCh, Arlcna Spend-love, Spend-love, Vaughn Hinton, Marion Ilinton, Gwen Hradshaw and Horace Hor-ace DeMille. This same cast also presented the same acts in Springdale on Saturday evening. Dr. and Mi's. Mclntire and son, Jodie left for Ogden Saturday to attend the funeral of his brother. The Hurricane chapter of the Alice Louise Reynolds club was entertained by Mrs. L. B. Bennett Ben-nett and Mrs. Ray Bradshaw at the Bennett home last Friday. Mrs. Orman Weight and Mrs. Reed Wilson gave the reports for the afternoon. Twenty-six members mem-bers were present and Mrs. Herman Her-man Wood of Salt Lake City was a special guest. Hurricane High and Overton High basketball teams played ball here Friday night. Hurricane was ahead at the half but Overton led from then on and won the game by a score of 38 to 25. The South ward sponsored a banquet Saturday evening to Taie funds for missionaries in the Held. About 250 people attended at-tended this event. President Claud Hirschi was toastmaster and everybody expressed themselves them-selves as having a delightful time. A dance was held afterward. |
