Look (?ut for Accidents When Parked on a Hill When leaving the car headed downhill, down-hill, even If the machine is in gear, the emergency brake set and the wheels turned in toward the curb, don't park it too close to the car ahead. In a recent case of this sort the car ahead, when pulling away bumped the other car sufficiently to throw the gears into neutral and change the position of the wheels. The emergency didn't hold, and had it not been for the fact that the machine ma-chine struck the fender of another car parked along the street, thus attracting at-tracting the attention of people passing, pass-ing, the car would have been smashed to pieces. |
