Show RES0L0TI0N EXTENDSTHANKS TO SUEORGE American Legion Auxiliary Committees Pass Motion of Appreciation for Entertainment En-tertainment at Convention In appreciation for the entertainment enter-tainment provided by St. George for the American Legion convention conven-tion held here the last week in August, the following resolution was passed by the American Legion Le-gion Auxiliary, department of Utah, in the final session: The committee of resolutions begs leave to submit for your consideration the following: Whereas the city of St. Ceorge has extended to us such a generous gen-erous welcome and has so heartily hear-tily supported us in this convention, con-vention, be it resolved that the American Legion Auxiliary, department de-partment of Utah, extend through the mayor and city council of St. George its sincere thanks . and appreciation to the people of the convention city lor their hospitality.. And be it further resolved that we extend the thanks of the department Auxiliary to the Lester Keate Post No. 90 unit and to its officers, committees, and members for their untiring efforts in making this convention conven-tion one of the outstanding department de-partment conventions. Be it further resolved, that we extend our thanks to the stake authorities for the use of the historic his-toric building in which we have been privileged to hold our sessions. ses-sions. And that we extend thanks to those who had charge of the decorations of the tabernacle and the city generally for the thoroughness thor-oughness and good taste with which they performed their work. We thank especially Mrs. Mae Pace and her committee for their excellent musical entertainment and the high quality of the musical mu-sical programs. Be it further resolved that we extend our thanks to those who excellently prepared for and so delightfully entertained at the tea given for the Gold Star Mothers. Mo-thers. Mrs. Frank D. Anderson, department de-partment of Utah s-ecretary, in. a letter to Mrs. Henry . Pickett, said: "I can truthfully say that this is by far the best convention I have ever attended. I personally enjoyed every minute of it and have heard the same comments on every side. Everybody in St. George was so gracious to us one and all, and I know it will be a pleasant memory with us for a long time to come." |
