Show DIXIE COLLEGE NOTES Pi of. J. William Harrison gave a splendid talk in devotional exercises last Thursday on "Opportunities at School." This was the fourth talk given on education last week, all of which wre very interesting and helpful help-ful to the students. The freshmen won the pennant in basket ball by defeating the third years with a score of 17 to 38. The third years had a, party in the gym last Saturday night. Dancing was the main amusement. A jolly time was had. They were complimented compliment-ed in devotional a few mornings afterwards after-wards by President Nicholes for their splendid party. Every class is making preparations for the cross country run to be held next Wednesday. Notice the prizes in the Dixie Drug store windows and besides be-sides two large turkeys, buns and candy and many valuable prizes go to the winning class. The following students entered the Armistice day oratorical contest. Eleanor Isom, Grace Prince. Daisy Leavitt, Bessie Atkin, Orvel Reeves, Bronson Adams, Maurice Miles and Mary Lyons, the winner. The next Lyceum number, Edwin Whitney, dramatic reader, will be here next Monday. |
