Show Ward Quorum Holds Trip The Ward Teachers Teacher's Quorum left Vernal Friday night after school schoel and went to Ephraim Ut home of Snow College Fighting Badgers The boys took their own sleeping bags and slept in the wrestling room on the college campus The following morn morn- morning morning ing they were guests of Ly- Ly Lyman Lyman man and had breakfast there After breakfast the fellows were also guests of the City of Ephraim and swam in the olympic size municipality in- in indoor indoor door pool which is one of the finest in the intermountain area The boys went to ManU Manti where they vIsited the grounds of the temple after which they returned to am and went on a tour of the Snow College campus The football coach Bob Stoddard invited the boys to listen to the pep talk given the football team prior to their crucial game with Car Car- Carbon Carbon bon College Golden Eagles of Price Utah Following the pep talk the boys were allowed to sit on the benches with the Snow College football players during the entire game Shortly after the game the boys drove back to tn Vernal Verna The school was very im- im impressed impressed pressed with the manners of the boys The director of Snow College Mr Holmes in- in invited invited the boys back to attend one of the exciting games dur- dur during during ing basketball season Those making the trip were quorum leaders John Palmer Norman Long and Al Green advisor Mr Green takes his vacation every fall to help with the Snow football team Boys from the Teachers Teacher's Quorum who went on the trip were Gordon Aycock Ray Caldwell Glen Holley Glen Stevens Leo Rooks Howard Merrell and Mike Freestone HowardI Boys from the high school I who attended were Kent Mc Mc- Mc Curdy Jack Stanfill Pat Punches Richard Wedig and Dale Lee Mr Green stated the trip was made possible through the cooperation of the Snow College athletic department especially Coach Stoddard |
