Show Dept Lists Most lost Important Laws For Deer Hunt Opening Saturday With Utah's general deer hunting season openIng Sat Sat- Saturday Saturday the Department of ofFIsh ofFish FIsh and Game listed the fol following lowIng laws among the most important to observe lve during this hunt One deer of either sex may maybe maybe be taken on the regular big game Ot or combination license during this regular season DEER MUST be tagged at atthe atthe the time and place of the kill Tags must be properly punched to indicate indi ale the date of the kill and the sex of the animal and must remain with the animal through pro pro- processing processing and until the meat is completely consumed It is unlawful for any locker plant or storage plant I owner or employee to receive any game animal for pro processing es- es essing sing or storage unless the an an- an animal imalis imal is legally tagged It is against the law for any hunter to carry in any vehicle any firearm whIch has live ammunition in the firing chamber ANY PERSON carelessly or negligently wounding or killing another person while on a hunting trip shall be subject to the loss of hunting license privileges for a per per- period lod iod of five years Every person while hunt ing shall wear conspicuous red or yellow headgear and andred andred red or yellow shirt sweater or jacket No one may hUnt deer un- un unless unless less they are sixteen years of age or older In addition juvenile deer hunters ages 16 through 20 years must be properly qualified to pur pur- pur purchase chase a big game license by successfully passing the re- re required re- re required gun safety course ARCHERY DEER permits purchased for the August August- September archery deer sea sea- season son may not be used during any other deer season The legal pursuit of deer is confined to daylight hours only to hunt by flashlight spotlight or artificial light of any kind It is unlawful for anyone to fail to stop at checking stations or 01 road blocks where a stop sign or red light is dis dis- dis displayed played Hunting on sp special cial permits is restricted to lh the areas for which the permits penults are arc issued Persons hunting on special permits must have the permit with them at all times A DOG OR DOGS may not be used at any time to hunt pursue or kill deer Sportsmen were reminded again that the foregoing are only a portion of the laws governing the 1963 dC deer r hunts with the total regula regula- regulations being listed in the an- an annual nual proclamation covering this season It is the obliga tion ion of every license holder to know all the laws before going afield |
