Show Manila stude student I t admitted to college Manila area resident Dawn a graduate of Rowland Hall St M Mirk rk School will begin undergraduate work in September at Occidental College joining a freshman class of approximately Dawn will be an outstanding addition to Occidentals Occidental's distinguished group of freshmen observed Jim Montoya director of admission at the college Montoya will greet the students Sept 11 when they arrive for or freshman orientation The admission director notes that Occidental is a highly selective institution As a result he states Dawn and the other entering freshmen are well prepared to handle the rigors of one of the nations nation's finest small colleges The class of 1986 is composed of students from ll 27 states and 20 foreign countries Approximately 68 percent of these students come from public schools and 32 percent from private schools The majority of the recent high school graduates ranked in the upper 10 percent of their class Occidental College a private Institution of 1700 students was founded in 1887 1867 and is located in Los Angeles near Pasadena |
