Show BINGHAM HIGH SCHOOL NEWS by Toni Stewart School Holiday When classes were dismissed Wednesday afternoon it was the beginning of a long week end for students. There was no school Thursday and Friday (yesterday and today) due to the UEA convention con-vention in Salt Lake City. Regular Regu-lar classes will toe resumed Monday Mon-day morning. Bingham North Summit Game Ends In Tie The Bingham Miners and the North Summit Braves battled to. a tie last Friday evening at Coal-viile. Coal-viile. Final score was 13 to 13 with Tom Lovat and Joe Castillo making the points for Bingham. Since the two teams were the only ones in Region Two that hadn't been ibeaten, Bingham is still tied for first place. Miners Whip Morgan 56-39 Bingham Miners were host to Morgan Wednesday night on the local field. They downed the visitors vis-itors 56 to 39. Featuring in the 95 point contest were kickoff returns re-turns toy Morgan's Racehorse Dixon, one for 88, the other for 83 yards. Tom Lovat of Bingham picked up three touchdowns himself him-self and passed for two more as both schools used up the available avail-able talent. Bingham used 40 men, Morgan 20, all that were on hand. On Friday, October 21, Bingham Bing-ham treks to Heber where they play Wasatch in another all im- portant game. Wasatch has four wins and one loss to their credit. Lyceum There will toe a lyceum assembly assem-bly Monday at 9:00 for all of the high school students Principal H. W. Jorgensen announced Wednesday. Wed-nesday. Suggestion Box J A suggestion box was put up f Monday to help decide on a name " for the tooys club, Lee Skanchy is in charge. Columbut Day Assembly An assembly honoring Christopher Chris-topher Columbus was presented to high school students Wednes- i day morning. The program was as follows: preliminary music was played by Kay Lou Cook; announcements, Principal H. W. Jorgensen; song "A Flag Without With-out A Stain" toy the school choir with , a solo toy Ann Houghton; posting of colors toy scouts from . troop 136 Bert Williamson, Gerald Nielson, and Paul "Weich-man "Weich-man with Russell Shatter in charge; song "America" by the choir with solo toy Joan Johnson; " A speech by Robert Bates, : "Early Life of Christopher Columbus"; Col-umbus"; a medley consisting of " "Yankee Doodle Dandy" and "Grand Old Flag" conducted toy ! Gerald Cunningham; speech "La ter Life of Columbus", by Diane : iReed; song "The Lord Bless You and Keep you", choir; speech "Life of Columbus After Leav- ' ing portugal", by Joe Orgill; a marimba solo "Blue Star" toy i Lowell Hicks, and a popular medley consisting of "Ain't Mis-behavin" Mis-behavin" and "Beautiful Ohio", and retiring of colors.
