Show Robert Nelson wins meet Last fast Friday morning Uintah Highs High's cross country team traveled to Price to participate in its first meet of ol the season the College of Eastern Utah Invitational Forty se secondary students from schools schools' in the surrounding area commenced the race through the interior of ol three different baseball diamonds up a a rutted road over two moderate hills through a gravel parking lot and back into the first ball field ROBERT NELSON the eventual winner began the race back in the pack but worked his way through the crowd taking over first position on the first hill of ol the three-mile three course Commendable performances were also turned in in by John Burns fifth filth place Roger Merkley eighth Farley a Ted York York- and Greg Richens place Going into the second lap of the two lap course the race appeared to be a contest between between bet bet- Robert Nelson the 1975 yard state state champion and Gary Marshall the state champion in the half mile The hills decisively decided that contest Nelson devoured both like a man possessed while Marshalls Marshall's legs succumbed to the overwhelming fatigue Nelson eventually sprinted across the finish line 45 seconds before the second place finisher Marshall finished sev seventh nth 9 THIS TillS SA SATURDAY Y Uintah's hs h's cross country team team- wilL take part in the Orem Invitational |
