E Crozier chairman of of the Uintah Basin Soil Conservation District Boa Board d of Supervisors released today the results of the latest election for district dis supervisors Mr Crozier and Keith I were both re-elected re to the Board and Marvin R R. R Bell is a newly elected supervisor Mr Crozier has served on the Board for the last three years and has been chairman since being elected He lie owns and runs a ranch in Ne Neola la KEITH has served on the Board for the past three years and has been treasurer secretary for that same period He lie owns owns and runs a ranch on on the North My Myton ton Bench area Marvin R R. R Bell will be serving his first term as as a member of the district board He lie is a successful dairyman and farmer in Arcadia Marion Ross and Amos Merkley are the the appointed members of the board Their terms expire in 1972 and 1974 respectively THE UINTAH Basin Soil Conservation District was organized in 1940 Districts are managed by citizens who know local problems In Utah there are five members mem- mem bers hers on a district district board board of supervisors They are not public employees and they receive no salary Three of the members members mem- mem bers are elected by the local landowners and two are arc appointed by the State Soil C Conservation ns Commission Conservation Districts are legal subdivisions subdivisions sub sub- divisions of state government and are responsible under state law for conservation conservation conser conser- work within their boundaries just justas as counties are responsible for roads and other services THE PURPOSE of districts under understate understate understate state law is to focus attention on land water and rel related ted resource resource problems They are to develop programs and enlist and coordinate help from all public and private so sources that can contribute to accomplishing the districts goals |
