Show Federalized Lands Dear Editor I am writing on the hope that you will find space for this letter in your paper First of all it seems as though it is election time once again This means it is time for us the people of Utah to try and elect someone who will do their level best to help the people of Utah and the state as a whole both bothin in the seat of Congress and Senate Now here are a few things which are very eminent that many people may have passed over First of all aU for the past several years Utah's natural resources resources re re- sources and taxable lands have been depleted by the increasing ever-increasing whim of our elect officials by making National wilderness areas without giving ample thought to the sheep and cattle industry industry indus indus- try the farming industry the oil and gas and the mining industry Now if the people of the state of Utah would but stop and think how many of them including our senators and congressmen congressmen con con- gressmen can live on three months wages I say this because tourist trade is only three months of the year And AndaU Andall Andall all aU of these National Parks Wilderness areas they have been made a single purpose area There can be no mining mining mining min min- ing oil drilling and they keep the sheep and cattlemen from running livestock on them These grounds make perfect breeding for the animals for they dont don't allow trapping in the area either So therefore what real good does the peo peo- pie of Utah or people of other states stales tourists get out of these National Monument Reserve areas They are not taxable and revenue that is made off of them goes to the federal government so then it should be plain plaits and evident that we do not need National Parks and to have these National Lands taken away from us the people of Utah Any Senator or Congressman who votes for the land to be federalized is guilty of one form of treason against the people of Utah and should be punished punished pun pun- by not allowing him to hold any public office in the state thereafter We as a people of Utah should in a sense run the federal government clear out of the state then if we want to make a State Park reserve making it a mut mutual al aluse use ar area area a could help our national resources resources resources' re re- sources sources sources' and keep the money derived from it within the of our pur state Then we wouldn't need all this federal aid to our state Then we wouldn't become a federalized state bear in fn mind a federalized state is one more step to toa a socialism state or in other words a communism state Respectfully yours DALE N.
