Show Little Gallery holds art awards s assembly The Little Gallery of oC Arts Arts Awards reception was held Saturday July 17 1976 1916 at the Uintah County Library followed by a dinner at Westons Lamplighter Inn Mr and Mrs Mrs' Ted Disco were chairmen for the reception with Mr Disco presenting the awards NORMA S. S Forsberg was presented a check of for forthe forthe forthe the Best Bat of the Show award which was a watercolor pastel Group of Trees Mrs Forsberg Forsberg For For- studied at the University of oC Utah Salt Lake Art Center Bountiful Art Center and with several well known Utah California Idaho and New York artists She has held one woman shows at Eccles Community Art Center Ogden Tuesdays Child Gallery in Boise Salt Lake Public Library Salt Lake Art Center Rental Gallery and Barnes Bank in Kaysville Mrs Forsberg has received many awards enjoys working with all kinds of of media and is a very versatile artist She is a member of Utah Watercolor Society Associated Utah Artists Intermountain Society of oC Artists and Western Guild She resides in Bountiful with her husband and spends many long and happy hours working in her studio gallery in Bountiful where she also teaches The Best Uintah Basin Artist Award of went to Jeff Johnson of Roosevelt His winning painting was was a a watercolor Place Setting MR JOHNSON graduated from the University of M Montana in 1975 with an associate degree in art Since then he has illustrated two books which will soon be published and is currently working on two illustrations for his second book which should be completed in early September lie He has done several magazine illustrations as well and hopes to someday make this his occupation rather than a sideline Jeff commented that he had spent it many long hours tours of detailed work on his winning painting and was well deserving of the award Julius Twohy o of oC Whiterocks received an Honorable Mention for Cor his painting Winter Season done in acrylics Mr Twohy is a versatile artist and enjoys experimenting and working with a variety of oC medias He lie commented that working with different medias medics was a challenge to him and helped him to continually strive to learn more Mr Twohy enjoys enjoys enjoys en en- joys portrait painting as well MR TWOHY attended art schools in Seattle and has exhibited his work in Washington Washington D. D C C. C and as well as locally Painting is not his Ws only interest he raises horses also and they have been entered in roping and racing competition Mr Twohy has a collection of of- oriental works of art which he has collected over the years as aswell aswell aswell well as some paintings from the National Academy Other winners who wert werE not in att attendance are a as follows Three Award of oC Merit prizes of 50 went to Linda Southam Tropical Cosmic Douglas Lee Heber Early Winter Sharlene Christensen Salt Lake City Winter Sleeping There were five Honorable Mentions N.
