Show School board shifts personnel Reassignments within the administration of the Uintah School District were approved at a recent school board meeting by district officials The assignments assignments' include BERT GIVIDEN principal of Uintah High School Mr has served three years as principal of Vernal Junior High School He has currently been superintendent of schools in Wasatch district and is currently working on his Doctorate which he hopes to complete within the year He was vice-principal vice at Junior High School In Riverside Riverside River River- side California prior to coming to Utah Stan t I Allen was named assistant in charge of ot elementary schools Mr Allen has served as principal principal principal prin prin- cipal of Uintah High School for forthe forthe forthe the past two years and prior to that was principal at Naples and Maeser Elementary Schools He is a former counselor counselor counselor coun coun- and has a masters in guidance and cO counseling Phil Ellis has a change of title He has been assistant superintendent over both elementary and secondary schools but in order to better serve servo the needs of the district distri t Mr Ellis will be over secondary schools exclusively Before coming to the Uintah District Mr Ellis was a counselor at Union High School He was pupil personnel director with the district before becoming assistant superintendent five years ago He joined the district staff in 1965 He has a masters in psychology and an administration administration administration ad ad- ministration certificate Grant Drollinger will be the new principal at the Vernal Junior High School Mr Drollinger has been principal at Naples Elementary for the past two years He has hats been bren director of special servi services es on the district staff and a teaching principal at Bonanza He has a masters degree in administration administration ad ad- ministration and supervision and has served as past president of the Uintah School district administrators association Ashel Evans former superintendent of schools of Uintah District has been named as principal at Naples Elementary Mr Evans has served as superintendent for 11 years He began his teaching career in the Uintah District 28 years ago IN OTHER OThIER action the district announced its objectives will include career education without academics As part of this program the board is looking at ata a new small gymnasium complex for lifetime sports tobe to tobe tobe be located at Uintah High School according to Dr Wayne L. L Reid district superintendent of schools As another phase of this program a course will be offered offered of of- to students of senior high ag age which would help them sell themselves at the business market level A course in basic manners will be implemented into the elementary level according according ac ac- ac cording to Dr Reid It is the goal of the district stated Dr Reid to involve the community in this program Each elementary school will soon have a new playground and outside grounds will be improved with weed maintenance main maintenance work and painting of current playground equipment the board stated District officials also adopted a policy on sex anti-sex discrimination as stated in Title nine They also adopted grievance procedures which define channels to be followed in cases of complaints or grievances by employees of thE the district as well as parents and students An orderly dismissal policy was also approved The district has agreed to purchase five additional mobile classrooms for Central Ashley West and Todd Elementary Schools Bid for the buildings was let to a Salt Lake City firm Centennial |
