Show H t Ogden man injured in accident An 18 year old Ogden youth was seriously injured JuI July 4 when the pistol he was carrying discharged striking him in the face The victim was identified as Larry Larsen of Ogden The accident occurred about pm p.m. one half mile below Brownie Lake Dam Daggett County Utah Larsen his wife and some friends were camped at the Brownie Lake Campground prior to the ac ac- ac- ac The victim received first aid treatment from the U U.S. U.S. U. U S S. S Forest Service and Utah Highway Patrol personnel at atthe atthe atthe the scene and was then transferred by Forest Service ambulance to the Vernal Hospital The accident was investigated by the Daggett County Sheriffs Sheriff's Department TOWN OF MANILA reconsidered an earlier decision to stop all watering of lawns lawns' during the months of July and August It was felt that with citizens cooperating and those here all week watering during the week and letting those who were only here during weekends water on weekends such drastic action would not be necessary The Sanitary Landfill Ordinance Ordinance Ordinance Or Or- was adopted by the Daggett County Commissioners July 3 in the afternoon meeting and by the town of Manila the same day at the evening meeting This ordinance will provide means of collecting for usage of the sanitary landfill Although the landfill has been in operation the largest part of the year no money has been collected The town and county has paid for all the digging covering and road maintenance Some of the town board members felt that people should be allowed to haul their own garbage and pay for dumping at atthe atthe atthe the landfill if they wished instead of paying for collection This will be discussed at the commissioner meeting July 17 PAINT HAS liAS improved the schools and the Church at Manila this summer The church is having a total redecorating job The Relief Society women helped by cleaning and sanding seats trim woodwork and kitchen cabinets With these being varnished the painted newly-painted walls new carpeting and new cabinets for the library the church is much improved Outside trim is to be painted yet At the schools painting has been done on the inside The outside trim is still to be painted Mr and Mrs William Briggs Sr have returned from a months trip to Chicago Illinois to visit their daughters daughter's family the Keith Andersons The Andersons joined them on an extended trip through the Northern States returning to St St. Anthony Idaho to visit another daughters daughter's family the Doug Jarvies Here they were met by Mrs Briggs Brigg's brother James Marshall and his wife and enjoyed a family reunion ALMA Sweetwater County met with Nimble Needles 4 H Club Tuesday at 4 pm p.m. to help the members with their demonstrations which are to be given in Rock Springs July 17 Earlier that day Miss had instructed an upholstering class at the Manila High School for the Manila Relief Society mini mint Manila Relief Society is continuing their mini-classes mini through the summer The summer classes are gardening upholstering held at the Manila High School each Tuesday a beginning class in quilting and quilting for the experienced A homemaking lesson will accompany the gardening and quilting classes which are given every second Tuesday of each month These classes start at 9 am a.m. Mrs Blair Williams and her children have arrived from California to spend the Ole summer at the ranch of Mrs Williams William's parents Mr and Mrs J.
