Show Former Basin Resident in Mag Spotlight Robert Chapoose member of the Ute Tribe was honored in the Indian Magaz ine recently for his present act and responsibilities as high councilman of the Temple View Stake In Salt Lake City Bore Bor at Ft Duchesne he is isone isone one of ten children and spent his childhood in Randlett with his grandparents who taught him the legends of his fore fore- forefathers fathers AT THE age e of 11 Mr Chapoose became interested in inthe inthe the Church and was bap a year later He graduated ed cd from Union High School in Roosevelt and served in the US Army where he spent 16 months in Korea Active in sports he became a member of the Eighth Army Headquarters Team which won the Far Far East East Armed Services Football Championships in 1954 WHEN HE returned home from military service he play play- played ed football for Dixie Junior Col Col- Col College lege in St George and was the first student selected from the Intercollegiate Inter athletic Con ference to the Junior College American All Football Team Mr Chapoose continued his education at Westminster Col Col- Col loge lege and the University of Utah In 1962 he began work with the Utah State Department of High ways Today h he is designing in In- In Interstate and secondary roads lie and his wife Connie have three sons |
