Show Winners Listed In School All Art Exhibit The Little Gallery of Arts an an- an announces the 1965 School All Ex Ex- Ex hibit is on display through May The gallery is open to the public on Tuesdays Thursdays and Sundays from 2 to 5 pm School and group tours may be had at any time by appointment call or THIS IS THE first time an art gallery has given students of the Uintah Basin an opportunity to exhibit Invitations for entries were sent to all schools in the the county A TOTAL OF works were entered from which were selected for exhibit First sec and ond and third place ribbons as aswell aswell well as honorable mentions were awarded in the following divisions high school junior high school sixth fifth fourth third second and first grades and kindergarten Those award ed third place ribbons are Mar Mar- Marsha sha Miller Douglas Powell Mary Todd Kristy Herd Jeffry Preston Kenneth Thomas and Elaine Huggins Second place ribbons went to Evelyn Snow Massey ReAnn Wilkins Ter Ter- Ter Terrena rena Fletcher Kevin Goodrich Dennis Terry Darlene and Bobby Nash FIRST PLACE was won by George Hill Rodney Wilkins Becky Duke Ginny Ashton Lory Peterson Annette Swain Lorraine Landon and Ronnie Wallen Those awarded honor honor- honorable able mention are Greg Gilroy Joanne Goldenstein Roetta Bas tian Wayne Swann Diana Gol Gol- Gol Goldenstein Kelly Rich Holly May May- Mayberry berry Larry Ashton Brenda Caldwell Carol Goldenstein Kathy Kelly and Stacia Ross Crafts were judged in two groups junior and senior high school and elementary school First place senior junior high school went to Ronnie Reynolds Third place elementary school was awarded to Bill Reynolds second place went to Joni Eny Enyeart eart and first place to Kevin Patterson Honorable mention was won by Bobby Rich and Bobby Bodily THE JUDGES made their sel sel- sel selections on the basis of creative creativity ity use of materials and proper presentation of work Judges were Mrs Loyd Mrs Clinton Frazier and Mrs Dway Dway- Dwayne ne Enyeart Schools represented are Central Jensen and Ashley Elementary Ashley Valley Jun for High and and Uintah High School The officers of the Gallery tell tellus tellus us they are delighted with the response to this exhibit and plan to make it an annual event Now that Vernal has an art gal gal- gallery lery everyone has more opportunity to study art at their leis leis- leisure tire ure The school and group tours offer both students and adults an explanation of each exhibit The monthly programs given at the Gallery are yet a further source of information which leads to greater understanding and enjoyment of art officers I said |
