Show awards given to visiting teachers A large number of relief society ladles ladies from throughout the stake attended the annual relief society visiting teacher convention at the Stake center sunday afternoon highlight of the meeting was the presentation of awards certificates ti for achieving cent visiting teacher for the past year were awarded to eight wards ashley davis happes nappes lapoint maeser maeger first vernal verna 1 first vernal second and bonanza although certificates were not awarded mention was wa s made that maeser second and gellnes ward word missed only one district each of having percent an outstanding event was when ladles received certificates tor for having percent teaching the past year this means about 60 percent of the visiting teachers in the stake made their visits each month during 1954 yellow carnation corsages were presented to 39 women who have been visiting teachers for 30 years or more and extra corsages were e given to six ladies ladles who had been teachers for 45 years or longer the awards were made by muriel S wallis stake relief society president and high councilman phillip watkins the meeting was conducted by mrs evyln G richardson first firs t counselor in the stake relief society prayers were by elsie ashby and nellie merkley two numbers were sung by the stake singing mothers conducted by margaret caldwell and accompanied by ruth L jones A ladies quartet composed of alice woolley hermle heiner lols lois walker and avernell sang a special nui nur riber president jesse A haws was the speaker and a panel discus slon was held under the durec eloh of edythe a board member participating on the nanel were clarissa mccur dv ella durfee dorothy searle hilda case and mary |
