Show 4 CAMPUS CAPERS 4 as A big day friday brought much excitement and enthusiasm to high in the hall waa was a seven foot red and white V U and there f were large signs covering the walls of the lower hall in jr tho south building everyone wan was dressed in red and white many with feathers and some even prepared for the battle with war paint on their faces at noon oon the ex excitement cit ement grew to a fury i rallying through the audi bonum and giving school yells 1 1 forthe for fop the team in the halls what V t was all the hubbub hub bub about the union and uintah game to be played that night of course the last part of ath period was a pep assembly big chief garrett and little chief adams had their tribes seated in a semicircle around the cheer leaders 01 on the stage carrie calder laura hacking and marqueta Marq ulta tat goodrich led some yells that brought back that spirit that has been a little lacking in the years gone by the good old school spirit everyone was with it th the big NI night that night at the game uin talis section was dotted with red and white feathers and headbands headlands head bands they witnessed a fast furious and exciting game mccarrel made some more of those thrilling long shots to become high point man with barr coming a close second and wilkins were continuously hustling the ball and traveling back to their basket it was a close game with union leading most of the time until I 1 finally ina Y uintah loomed toura f 0 ur points ahead then a rn medley edley of foul shots on uintah which brought brough t union in the lead again and took barr and slough out of the game with four minutes to I 1 lay a y we clulee gain ga ack C k those few needed points we the BI big 9 dane dance it W was as a b big ig dance ind indeed dd when the game was over an and the uintah and union dds all swarmed on oil the floor to dance to reynolds orchestra the floor was packed with people with all sorts of feelings mad glad and sad of course everyone tried to be happy but i it t was a little hard some ou outstanding t aint uintah couples were dale boss ross and beth bryson kenny feltch and margie hacking doyle johnson and arlene sullivan floyd tullis and arid joyce robbins lloyd freestone and frenna anderson the me vigil looking on the more serious side of life were the faculty in the play the vigil last wednesday and thursday in the tabernacle er e it was as a ver very v interesting play a y with mr jarvis and mr ya johnson h taking the leads the faculty should be congratulated for their good work patriotic assembly last thursday was the first time this year the band has been on an assembly in full uniform the is assembly honored washington and lincoln an and d lamond tullis and J wallace johnson gave tributes to these great men the mixed chorus sang and the i band played several patriot patriotic numbers the student body I 1 joined with the chorus and band ito to sing the star spangled ban I 1 ner A pledge of allegiance wa wai given to the flag and the faculty quartet mr rigby mr walker mr hollingsworth and mr lee thrilled the audience with two numbers more hearts another sweethearts ball |
