interpreter front from our state department ot of edu cation they stopped a mon mom ent in each room and watched the classes we enjoyed their visit and would like to have had them stay longer the children were curious to hear them speak in their own tongue they obliged whenever ask ed these people were very friendly and took pictures and talked with both indian and white pupils national education week was a busy time at todd everyone enjoyed the school program monday which was attended by many parents our parents day was friday it was the biggest ever one hundred and twenty eight homes were represented by parents and in many cases fa came with the mothers to talk with the teachers this included many more indian parents than usually come a store window lit in ft duchesne pickups store window in randlett and J C penneys window in roose velt held informative and in ill te resting displays of the new report cards and teaching ma serials used at todd school those 3rd ard grade we had a program to lionor honor A merican american education week susan Ru russell gsell alzora jos eph and avard mem memorized a poem about our nation larry and forrest dr ased up in ill beautiful indian costumes and danced a war dance it was all very colorful and pretty we also danced to a record called dingo bingo we dressed up neatly and some to see us came of our parents dance SECOND GRADE GETS 3 TURTLES science from the second grade mrs raines brought three turtles from missouri she told us that you can find turtles along the road many times the cars care run over them and they are killed we feed lettuce they are al ways turning their drinking water over the turtles are fun to play with we also have an ant farm we have a queen ant we hope alope she will lay some eggs we feed the ants crumbs and sugar and water our tropical fish should soon have babies we have to be careful or the mother fish will eat her own babies AMERICAN EDUCATION WEEK AT LAPOINT As chairman of with parents the new report cards were discussed and were given to parents A sample of a report card along with other posters were placed in town windows light refreshments were to the parents Parc
