the bank of green river th e r purpose was not deft bitely known some thought it was to see about building a be school hool house while other thought it was to start a community organization and se sec about building a community house bouse I 1 1 the gathering represented a little scattered community some had lived on farma along one side aide of the river for many years while others othera were homesteaders some were especially interested in tile the school which was struggling for existence others felt the need of getting together learning from each ot other herland land becoming more social probably everybody was wall surprised to see so many others there you dont realize how much truck you have until you move and you dont how many there are in the neighborhood I 1 until you get them all together though it seemed about of the way nook of the world there was at least one distinguished guest there mr arthur coggeshall of the thecae car museum the man who so skillfully mounted the big dinosaurs for the museum wits was there with illig his oldest daughter as they were there visiting with the douglass family mrs geo thorne the teach er called the meeting to ordal and mr enoch lybbert was i elected temporary chairman then began a lively discus ston sion gentlemanly but showing decided differences of op opinion laton on account of the fact that green river divides the house the matter was dropped and steps were taken looking toward the establishment of a community organization sev eral expressed their opinions on the subject andthil and this was followed by a most horrible to be listened to by a civilized man or woman yet in spite of the demon of tear lear hold held over those of tender years and weak minds people were loften better than their religion and they sociability it is eminently preeminently pre J the land of homes farms and rural social life the only foundation on which a nation or people can stand secure but our smaller out of the way communities do not have their privileges unless they have the energy interest and perseverance to make them in many places in the united Stat states esthe the peo pie ale have bave organized and a revo alution gutlon has been produced in ili the community I 1 at this meeting mr douglass mr love and I 1 mrs athorne thorne were elected as a committee on organization the president appointed a program committee one or two names were proposed pio posed for the club I 1 but none decided upon the next meeting was on august ath at mr oakless Oak leys there was a report of the committee on organization gi gli ing suggestions etc I 1 by the chairman voted that instead of drafting a constitution and bylaws by laws rules and regulations should be made as needed this starts the society on its career without shackles and useless restrictions leaving it free to developed dev elope in the bicad est eat manner it was thought that having tile the main objects of the society in iview it would grow healthfully
