Show topographical survey prof A E murlin of washington D C who has charge of the topographical survey of the uintah forest reserve and his hia party were in town saturday night they have finished work on the eastern end of the rese reserve as aa far west as leides peak the mountain just behind march peak this work has taken about two months the work on about 00 square miles remain to be c completed and will require six weeks longer they will commence at dry fork and will continue on to marsh peak the head waters of deep creek whiterocks the uintah river andrt gilbert it la Is their intention to accomplish the tha task before tho this severe weather sets bets in in about a year the topographical graphical raph ical maps mapa of this part of the reserve will be prepared from data which this party Is now collecting these maps will be of interest as they include this thia end of the uintah range and about thirty five miles of green river prof Mur lins party consisted of the following persons milton T moyes of washington D C E 11 II of heber city will green howard cloke solon hadlock adlock II june wimmer and ashael wimmer of vernal mr has been engaged in the topographical work of the government for about six years prof murlin has been in the service about twenty two years he says that as the uintah range to is the only range of mountains running east and west they have many unique topographical features and he considers it a great honor to have t the he privilege of collecting the data for the topographical maps of this sei section tion |
