( ? tr J Bertha Richards Bertha Richards dies at home Bertha Lillian Vernon Richards, age 78, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, grand-mother, and great grandmother; died July 21, 1983 at her home. Born March 13, 1905 in Vernal to Andrew An-drew J. and Ada Allen Vernon. Married David Lloyd Richards, Jr. July 18, 1923, in the Logan LDS Temple. Active member of the LDS Church, Vernal 3rd Ward. She held several church positions throughout her life, including president of the Relief Society Socie-ty and Primary, Stake Sunday School, visiting teacher, served as a officer to the Daughters of Utah Pioneers (DUP) Club and Utopia Club. Survived by her husband of Vernal; three sons and a daughter, Vernon L., Salt Lake City, Shirley R., Ruper, Idaho, Mrs. Every (Delores) Merkley, Vernal, Gordon A. (Laddie), Vernal; 18 grandchildren; 33 greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; brother and sisters, Alton Vernon, Mrs. Les (Stella) Thacker, and Mrs. Charlie (Ethel) Palmer all of Vernal. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 23, 1983 at 11 a.m. at the Vernal 3rd Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Vernal Morturary Friday, July 22' from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. for the viewing. Burial will be in the Maeser Fair-view Fair-view Cemetery.
