Show Whiterocks damsite drilling contract let A S114.U0U contract for exploratory drilling at the Whiterocks Damsite was awarded to XL Drilling Company by the Bureau of Reclamation, according to Reclamation's Upper Colorado Regional Director Clifford Barrett. Whiterocks Damsite is located about 20 miles north of Roosevelt in Duchesne County. The work to be performed there w ill consist of drilling a total of 13 holes of various sizes and depths, and collecting collec-ting core samples in order to obtain test data on the suitability of this location as a site for Whiterocks Dam. The work should be completed within 120 calendar -days. XL Drilling Company of Montrose, Colo., submitted a low bid of $114,393, the lowest of six bids received. Second and third low bids ranged between $121,000 and $130,000. Whiterocks Dam will be the main storage reservior for the Uinta Unit of the Central Utah Project, and will provide pro-vide irrigation water for the Ute Indian Reservation. |
