Show Man kills woman shoots self A 28-year-old oilfield worker apparently apparent-ly shot and killed his girlfriend early Wednesday morning and then committed commit-ted suicide, according to Vernal police. Chief Robert T. Downard identified the victims as Tony Clark and Maria Owens, 23. Clark's boss discovered the bodies when he drove to the couple's residence at 10 a.m. to give Clark a ride to work, Downard said. Both children of the couple who police know about, was away from the home during the incident, he added. Miss Owens was shot at least five times with a .22 caliber rifle, the chief said. Investigation In-vestigation revealed that Clark shot her once, dragged her onto a sofa where he cut off her hair, and then shot her four more times, the chief added. Detectives Wednesday afternoon had yet to rule out a third party being involved, involv-ed, Chief Downard said. He added that a suicide note was found. Clark apparently ap-parently shot himself once in the head. Investigators believe the incident occurred oc-curred about 3:30 a.m. |
