Show Officers elected at annual Moon Lake Electric meeting Addressing around 350 members at Moon Lake Electric's annual meeting last Saturday, Steve A. Claim, general manager of the cooperatives said "While we are pleased with the prospect of no increases in rates in 1983, we do not want our members to be aware that when the Bonanza Plant comes on line in late 1984 or early 1985, rates will, of necessity, increase." He added, "We will, however, keep our members informed." As part of the annual meeting, members re-elected three directors to serve another term. Elected were Calvin J. Monks, Myton, District 2; E. W. Long, Ftangely, Districts 6 and 7; and Lloyd C. Nelson, Ftoosevelt, District 8. The three proposed bylaw amendments were also approved by the members at the meeting. Officers of the cooperative were elected at a meeting later the same day. Willard 0. Wall is the president. Other officers are Calvin J. Monks, vice president presi-dent and E.W. Long, secretary-treasurer. secretary-treasurer. The members heard Dr. D.G. Dunning, Dunn-ing, a management consultant from Greenwood, Nebraska, talk about the frustrations facing rural America and ways they are handled. R. Earl Dillman, attorney for Moon Lake and Uintah Power and Light Company, Com-pany, (which merged with Moon Lake) for a total of 35 years, was presented a plaque following the announcement of his retirement July 1 this year. Ralph Taylor, right-of-way coordinator, coor-dinator, who retired after serving the cooperative for 27 years, 16 as a direc- tor and 11 as an employee, was recognized. Also recognized were Sherm Sorenson, crew foreman in the Roosevelt area, who completed 30 years of service last year ; Blaine Murray, system technician; Dave Justus, maintenance technician; and Don Wade, journeyman lineman, all with 25 years of service and all from Rangely. Approximately 70 children enjoyed the movie Superman II while their folks attended at-tended the business meeting. Charles K. Powell and George Dean each won a quarter of beef and Ralph Dart and Sherry Uresk won a half pork. Ten other door prizes were awarded. Ralph Dart was on a lucky streak and won a chain saw in the drawing conducted con-ducted for those completing a survey. The activities before the meeting included in-cluded an electric safety demonstration, conservation exhibits, films, and a lunch served by the Neola First Ward Relief Society. |
