American Fork captured ourth place at 752 counters and Orem Elected fifth place at 41 s counters, hmpvie Placed sixth at 41 points and Vivo finished in seventh place at 21 SHinters. Now it was time to lock up the championship for the Utes once and for all and they put the padlock on the region crown and threw away the key in grand style as they won three of the next four championship encounters for a 21S point lead of 178-1562 over the Vikings. Uintah's Torr McCurdy placed second at 138 pounds when he was thumped by Mountain View's Chris Humphreys 14-5. Humphreys jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the first round due to two takedowns, but McCurdy escaped from Humphreys for one point. McCurdy Mc-Curdy nabbed a penalty point and a neutral in the second round, but Humphreys netted three points on a neutral and takedown. McCurdy added two escapes in the third round, but Humphreys pocketed two takedowns and a three-point near fall. A shot at victory by Darrin Bailey appeared to be long shot, as he fell behind 2-0 in the second round due to a neutral and penalty point by Kevin True.x of Pleasant Grove. However, Bailey refushed to let his region championship dream die as he nabbed a neutral and a penalty point with 50 seconds left in the third round to tie up the contest at 2-2. The region title became a reality for Bailey when he garnered a takedown with eight seconds left in the contest to win the match by the score of 4-2. The Utes' Randy Smuin became the third Uintah fussier to taste victory as he downed Kerry Robertson of American Fork 6 to 2 in the 155 pound championship contest. Smuin grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first round on a takedown, but Robertson netted a reversal early in the second round to tie up the match at 2-2. Smuin selected himself as the w inner w hen he gained a neutral and a takedown for a 5-2 lead after two rounds. Smuin added a neutral in the third round for a 6-2 triumph. Pat Jenkins became the fourth Uintah Ute first place w inner when he dow ned Pleasant Grove's Mark Harvey 3-1 in the 167 pound championship match. Jenkins gained a 2-0 lead in the first round due to a takedown and added a neutral in the third round for a 3-Oadvantage. Harvey gained a penalty point to make the final score: Jenkins 3 and Harvey 1. Kline Bradford, Mountain View, pocketed first place at 185 pounds when he pinned Uintah's Jody Young with 29 seconds left in the first round and Pleasant Grove's Dave Reeves won the heavyweight crown when he blanked Dan Chrisman, Timpview, 4-0. Uintah's David Gentry, 119, placed third when he won his match with Evan Richards of Timpview due to a forfeit. Kent Boren captured fourth place at 132 pounds when he was downed by Carl Johnson of Provo 5-2. The match was tied at 0-0 after two rounds, but Johnson gained a reversal and three-point near fall and Boren gained a reversal.
