Show TENNIS NOTES A well-rested John McEnroe took on a weary Jimmy Conners Sunday in the final of the U.S. Pro Indoor Tennis Championship Cham-pionship and the result was perhaps the most lopsided of their storied rivalry. The top seeded McEnroe needed only an hour and 55 minutes to demolish the second-seeded second-seeded Conners 6-3, 6-3, 6-1 6-1 and win the title, which was worth $60,000. The World's No. 1 ranked player was on Conners from the start with a sharp accurate serve, produced 13 aces and a variety of precise shots, but another advantage in his favor was the tough three hour semifinal match that Conners played against Chip Hooper Saturday night. mi Cotton growing, which originated orig-inated in India, was taken to Greece by Alexander the Great |
