Show FIRE INSPECTION PLANNED FOR COMING WEEK The fire department will inspect in-spect all public buildings, stores, hotels and apartment houses during dur-ing Fire Prevention Week which opens October 5th. The department has been split up into 25 teams of two men each and each team will be given a specific area to inspect and report re-port on. Inspection blanks will be checked by the officers following fol-lowing tne inspection and a follow fol-low up will cover those places having definite fire hazards. The firemen will appreciate the cooperation of the owners or occupants oc-cupants of the premises inspected inspect-ed by accompanying the inspectors inspec-tors and following the recommendations recommen-dations for the improvement of the buildings. Any home owner who desires an inspection can have a team of the firemen inspect their home by contacting Chief John J. Creedon or Assistant Chief Louis Arritola. The department is proud of the record of the past few years and realize that the greater part of the credit for the splendid record in Bineham is due to th ennn- eration of the public with the fire department in making our town safe from fire. This is the worst season of the year for grass fires and the department de-partment has put out two or three of these fires in the past week, although no alarm has been turned turn-ed in. Be careful where you throw your matches or cigarette, especially espec-ially along the highways as the grass is tinder dry and can take off in a matter of seconds. o |
