| Show f s. s t r m mT A I I 1 I f. f IF tl riI e 0 r I I T i t. t A I r f Y c. c I L LY 1 THE RIRIE WOODBURY RIRIE-WOODBURY WOODBURY Dance Company of Salt Lake City is scheduled to arrive this Sunday to begin the final week two-week AIS residency for the school year in the Uintah School District The q company will be performing a community con cone cert Saturday April 22 at the Vernal Jr High auditorium Woodbury Ririe-Woodbury arrival announces AIS finale The arrival of the Woodbury Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company Artists school Artists in school participants this Sunday April 16 signals the beginning of the final two two- week residency of the AIS program for forthe forthe forthe the 78 1977 Uintah School District school year The nine-member nine company is scheduled to conduct a similar residency to that of Crystal Samuels and Angel Camareno held in February Although they'll conduct lecture- lecture demos and regular classes to Uintah School District students the emphasis will b be bd placed on working with the teachers and helping polish the groundwork laid by Samuels and Camareno in the utilization of body and dance movement as a teaching medium DIRECTOR CO-DIRECTOR of the company Joan Woodbury will introduce the company to students and faculty during a series of three introductory sessions Monday at Uintah High School in the morning and at Naples Elementary in inthe inthe inthe the afternoon The third session will beat be beat beat at the high school at pm p.m. for the faculty The first weeks week's schedule will be similar to previous residencies but on a grander scale with the company dividing into three teams to conduct the workshops and classes According to Teresa Murphy high school AIS coordinator Naples Elementary will have two of the three teams assigned to them with the high nigh school receiving the remaining team The directors co-directors Woodbury and Shirley Ririe lUrie will alternate between the two schools as required The com company pany unlike previous visiting artists will perform in concert at the Vernal Jr High auditorium for Vernal Jr High and West Jr High students on April 20 Similar one-hour one performances will also be given during the morning and afternoon on April 21 for district elementary students THE TIIE HIGHLIGHT of the residency and possibly of the entire AIS participation participation participation par par- in the community will be a community performance of the dance company on Saturday April 22 The 8 pm p.m. performance on Saturday is also in conjunction with the Festival of the Arts for the Young Week scheduled for the last week wee in April P Price ice of ot the concert has been set at 2 for adults and students Tickets may be purchased at any school or at the school district office |
