Show LEGION the beaver post no 35 held ti meeting thursday evening of last week in the library auditorium their state commander john E booth antl and state adjutant kirk at decker of salt lake city were present and presented the post with their charter and installed the officers on oil friday morning a trip was waa made to milford where a post was organized at a banquet was given in honor of the visiting officers at tile the pearce hotel white and rod red carnations with ferns decorated the tables tho the banquet was largely attended by the legion boys and their partners speeches during the banquet were mado made by commander booth and adjutant decker arnold parkinson post adjutant joseph Manz manzoline olne chaplain dr J J Hop llop klois kims warren and wm hurst mrs beauprie spoke a few words in behalf of organizing an auxiliary chapter hero here A mass meeting was held in the opera house at the large hall was handsomely festooned festoon ed with streamers of rod red and white and blue crepe pap paper erand and the wall with bunting and flags with large mirrors hero here and there at the back on the stage which was occupied by tho the post and speakers sp ekers was the largo large and beau flag of their country commander beauprie Beaupr Denu prie le presented the opening number led by prof will T morris the star spangled banner sung by the audience pianist miss its phyllls phyllis prayer Clin chaplain plain J Manar olno remarks by commander who introduced the speakers john E booth and kirk at decker commander booth gave a splendid talk on oil the origin and alms of the american Amer icam legion A vocal duet was given by miss lucile huntington and mrs shelmit barton ada kirk at decker gave a vory very forceful talk on what the legion means to the nation and community 1 cornet solo alden woodhouse accompanied by prof will T morris on the piano closing song america A grand ball followed which was largely attended and much enjoyed by all present |
