Returns from Mercur have not yet been received, the above returns being the result of fire assays. There is an immense body of the ore which - can be mined with the UBe of but very little powder. It is said that it can be worked profitably for two dollars per ton, which would indicate that - and hi3 partners have a gooid thing. , Mr.-Anderso- n A Eilver wedding party in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Andersen, was held on Thursday evening, at the residence of that couple in the Seventh ward. We have been asked why the Salt Lake Opera Co , cannot or will not play Logan at reduced rates, as it is claimed they have elsewhere. One effectual and conclusive reason is that, while they have always drawn large houses in Logan, the expense of their conveyance by special train has been so large that they have never yet quite cleared expenses.- - It- - will thus be seen that they must either retain the rate, stay at home, or the amusement partially, pay-fof their patrons. The wedding reception held at the residence of Mr. Alex. Lewis on Wednesday evening, in honor of the wedding of Thomas C. It was a eociable party, and all enjoyed themselves hugely. The wed- ding gifts were numerous and beautiful. es 10-pou- - Born to the wife of Mr, Fred shade tree, bay the Carolina Carson, a fine boy.
